UPDATE 2026

Hello Parents and Educators.

 

I am hoping 2025 was a great year for you and that 2026 will be full of health, happiness & love.

 

Every year I research trends that are negatively affecting children and try to create material that will give kids tools and techniques to work with and overcome these issues. 

 

SCREENS, of course, are still the big story and with A.I. on the rise we are beginning to face a slew of new challenges when it comes to HOW our kids learn. With screens, it's PASSIVE learning and with the use of A.I., well, I'm not even sure what to call it. 

 

Let me quickly swap acronyms (A.I. with GPS) -

 

Before I had GPS in my phone I could get around just fine. Now, if my GPS isn't working I'm totally lost.

I rely on GPS.

 

I'm nervous that A.I. will have a similar effect on our kids. The difference, of course, is that without GPS I can still find my way. I learned how to read a map BEFORE GPS. Kids run the risk of overreliance on A.I. and diminished critical thinking skills.

 

SOOOOOO, I would like to focus on ACTIVE LEARNING and CRITICAL THINKING this year.

 

I am working on a show that is all about the concept of PERSPECTIVE and teaching kids about the importance of discussing different viewpoints and also LEARNING from them. That show will be ready in early November.
